Nicole Avery
Nicole is Owner and Manager of Zone 3 Fitness. She is an ACE (American Council on Exercise) certified personal trainer and a certified Spinning Instructor. A native of Maine, she brings 25 years of management and marketing experience to this new venture. Nicole’s life-long commitment to fitness has led her to launch Zone 3 Fitness. She grew up in an athletic family and environment and has been active in a variety of team and individual sports including triathlons, golf, and hiking.
“My Zone 3 moments include crossing the finish line of the 2000 Chicago Olympic Distance Triathlon and in 2005 reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa at 19,340 feet.“
Monica Swan
Monica is the Director of Fitness Programs for Zone 3 Fitness. Monica has 9 years experience as a NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) certified personal trainer and is a licensed massage therapist. Since moving to Maine in 2005, she has run her own personal training and massage business in Yarmouth. Monica is an avid runner and has also rowed competitively since high school. She is an active member of the Yarmouth Rowing Club, which competes in rowing regattas across the country.
“My Zone 3 moment involves the honor of racing in the world renowned Head of the Charles Regatta, where our YRC boat placed third in 2009.”
Allison Zuchman
Allison is a Hatha Yoga instructor who has practiced yoga for over 14 years. She completed her Anusara teacher training in Lenox, Massachusetts. Allison has a calm, clear, fun and heartfelt presence. Her classes weave together physical alignment, breath work, and mental clarity. This work will improve your flexibility and strength and can help create some balance in your workout and your life.
Kelly & Pawel Pietrzak
Kelly and Pawel moved to Maine in 2010 from the Washington DC area, with their dog Caesar. Kelly teaches math at South Portland Middle School and Pawel works for the Westbrook Housing Authority on their Finance and Technology team. Avid outdoors people and active in many different sports, Kelly and Pawel are also Spinning instructors. They lead our Tuesday and Thursday night rides with a combination of energy, great music and fun that always has their group coming back for more!
"My Zone 3 Moment was crossing the finishing 3rd in my age group in a womens' half marathon trail race. It was September in Virginia with 90+ degree heat and humidity. A long but rewarding race!" Kelly
Libby Kenney
Libby is Zone 3 Fitness' newest trainer! She and her husband, Bruce, came to our 1st Annual Turkey Burn and were hooked...they have been loyal members ever since. Libby is a long time runner and also loves to hike and kayak. This year Libby combined her passion for fitness and healthy living with her natural energy for coaching as she earned her certification in personal training from ACE (American Council on Exercise). She joined the Zone 3 Team in March and has been leading Z3 Circuit and Power Zone classes since then. Libby is dedicated to her clients' safety and personal growth, and her specialty is encouraging people to move beyond their self-imposed comfort zones and doing more than they ever imagined possible. Her energy is contagious! Libby is available for private and small group personal training sessions.
