FREE Teen Athlete Training Sessions during February Vacation

(Scarborough, ME –February 18,  2013)    Zone 3 Fitness is holding two free training sessions for Teen Athletes during February vacation week.  Designed specifically for teens who are training for their upcoming sports season, each session will include an instructional component on proper form on several essential major muscle functions, as well as some tips on increasing core strength.  Proper form is important for both of these areas in order to improve speed and agility for any athlete on the field or court or in the pool.

In addition to the instructional component where Zone 3’s certified trainers will help teen athletes perfect their basic form, they will also experience a Z3 Circuit Training.  This dynamic, multi-station training program is designed using HIIT Principles (High Intensity Interval Training), which is ideal for building explosive power and speed, as well as building endurance and strength.  Zone 3 Fitness offers over 20 Circuit Training Sessions every week for people of all ages and fitness levels.  The circuit can be modified to fit people who are deconditioned to athletes who are looking to be challenged.  The Teen Athlete Circuit Training will be designed to put their new techniques to the test and give them a circuit training they can use in their own training program going forward.

Nicole Avery, Owner/Manager of Zone 3 Fitness commented,  “We know that when an athlete shows up for the first day of his/her season in great shape and ready to play, they are going to be more successful and thus, they are going to be able to help their team be successful.  We also know that the strength, endurance and balance they develop during the off-season plays a big role in reducing the risk of injury to teens.  We want to share our expertise and experience with teen athletes so that they can develop a comprehensive training program for themselves and help our local sports teams in a unique and meaningful way.

Participants must be between 14-18 years old and have a signed Parental Consent Form.  There are limited spots available for Tuesday, February 19, and Thursday, February 21, from 2pm – 3:45pm.  On line registration is required through Zone 3 Fitness website at www.zone 3fitness.biz.  These two Training sessions will be free of charge.
